With over 30 years in the construction industry, Jay’s journey began in the mid-’90s, working part-time with a small renovation company while building his first home in Monterey Park. Through the builder’s “sweat equity” program, he gained hands-on experience in hardwood flooring, tile installation, and carpentry.

From 2013 to 2019, Jay and his wife ran Sarber Contracting, specializing in flood and fire restoration. He also worked on basement developments and interior customizations, building expertise in framing, drywall, taping, texturing, and kitchen installations. In 2019, he transitioned into site supervision and project management for a Calgary restoration company, where he has spent the last six years overseeing residential projects.

Outside of work, Jay enjoys hiking, fishing, and traveling with his wife. He is excited to bring his experience and passion for construction to the Shane Homes team.
