Cal Wenzel

Cal Wenzel is CVO & Chairman of the Shane Homes Group of Companies. Back in 1979, Cal founded Shane Homes alongside his partner Barry Basillie. His business commitment is to maintain the best reputation for building quality homes, continuously improving, and satisfying his customers. Over the last three decades, Cal has served as president of several home building associations, partnered in other home building and land development companies, served on numerous charity boards, and was honoured by his contemporaries with awards and other recognitions. Cal was inducted in 2016 into Calgary's Business Hall of Fame to recognize his lifetime achievements in business, entrepreneurial spirit and philanthropic contributions. Cal has been a lifelong fan of dogs and has two loving poodles that his family has deemed the "attack poodles."

Shane Wenzel

Shane is the President & CEO of the Shane Homes Group of Companies and the namesake. Shane's responsibilities include strategic direction for the companies, policy advice for the building industry through BILD Calgary, and political involvement through the Alberta Enterprise Group on the economy, making him an industry leader in his field. Shane's sales and marketing background comes from growing up with two entrepreneurial parents, Cal and Edith, and participating in a business advisory group. On the personal side, Shane considers himself a bit of a "tech junky" and social media influencer on various platforms. He's also proudly apart of the LGBTQ community.

Dave Rickett

Dave Rickett is the COO and genuinely loves working in the home building industry. Over the past 40 years Dave has overseen many departments within the Shane Homes Group of Companies. Currently, Dave oversees the operations the Group of Companies. Dave leads our developer relations and land purchases. He values family and appreciates the fact that he gets to work so closely with them! He also enjoys golf and travelling.

Kayt Burren

As Vice-President, Finance & Accounting, Kayt Burren oversees the financial reporting and risk management functions across the Shane Homes Group of Companies. She supports the team with her strong background in financial analysis, compliance, and knowledge of private corporate structures. She believes in the benefit of remaining deeply curious throughout life and jumps at the opportunity to learn new skills. When Kayt is away from the office, this born and raised Calgarian loves to wander the beautiful city with her mischievous (but adorable) puppy.

Melanie Gowans

Melanie Gowans thoroughly enjoys her role as Vice-President of Sales, Marketing and Interior Design. She brings a wealth of knowledge with her and is responsible for leading the marketing, sales, and interior design teams. She has a strong passion for the home building industry and especially enjoys guiding others to build the home of their dreams. With a heavy addiction to 70's music, Melanie loves to have a good laugh and enjoys family movie night with the kids.

Sharlene Rickett

Sharlene Rickett is the VP of Administration and has been with Shane Homes since 1992. In her first fifteen years, she served in the Customer Service and VP Administration role.  She has a straight shooter style, get it done mindset and learn from your mistakes attitude that has helped her. Shar believes that having a purpose, a connection, and personal fulfillment from contributing to its missions is rewarding to her career.
Shar's family has steadily increased in size and now has two outstanding grandchildren. She also loves to hang out with her friends and share in the laughter.

Sharlene's favourite quote is "Be a rainbow in someone else's cloud" – Maya Angelou.

Brenden Montgomery

After ten years working as a planning consultant, Brenden jumped at the chance to work for the Shane Homes Group of Companies. As the Vice-President of Land Development, Brenden brings a wealth of knowledge and passion for building communities to Shane Homes. His drive to build relationships with our developers, builders, consultants, and contractors leads to the strong delivery of projects. Brenden loves to grow and maintain his impressive beard when not working, even though it makes him look older than he is. At the office, Brenden enjoys bringing selections of his awesome vinyl collection to spin for his workmates.

Roger Duurtsema

Roger Duurtsema is a highly accomplished professional in the Calgary home building and construction industry, with over twenty years of experience. Throughout his career, he has gained extensive expertise in various aspects of the industry, including sales, manufacturing & supply chain management, trade operations and trade relationships. His breadth of knowledge and hands-on experience have enabled him to streamline operations, enhance efficiency, and drive profitability for Shane Homes. As the General Manager of Operations at Shane Homes, Roger plays a crucial role in shaping the company's future. His passion for the industry, combined with his unwavering dedication to delivering exceptional homes, ensures that Shane Homes remains at the forefront of the Calgary market.

Mark Albertin

As the General Manager of Multi-Family, Mark is responsible for bringing together all the elements of the Multi-Family division. With his background in construction and architectural design, Mark is excited to lean on this experience while guiding project development. Amid his role’s responsibilities, he remains an avid seeker of inspiration. Whether he’s researching architectural marvels or drawing insight from the natural world, his discerning eye remains a constant. On a hot summer day, you will often find Mark exploring the city or spending the afternoon poolside sharing laughs with family and friends

Daryl Grieves

Daryl has been working in the construction industry for the past 25 years. Starting with Shane Homes in 1994 as a Construction Assistant his ambition to succeed helped him to climb the ranks within the company. Throughout his years with Shane, Daryl has worked in several job roles including Service Technician, Project Manager, Safety Manager, and to his current position of Construction Manager. His responsibilities include managing the daily operations in the field and overseeing the service department to ensure the company’s quality standards are met. Daryl has passion for safe practices in the workplace and he continues to manage the Shane Homes Group of Companies’ safety program.

Paul Savoie

Paul joins the team with over 35 years of construction experience. We are thrilled to welcome him back as Paul has previously worked at Shane for over 20 years. As a Journeyman Carpenter having worked various roles, Paul prides himself on his safety conscious approach, strong leadership, and high quality craftsmanship. Paul enjoys the interaction with colleagues, in and out of the office as well as the interaction with all our trade/vendor partners.

Liz Lipton

Liz Lipton is the Customer Experience Manager here at Shane Homes and began her career in the homebuilding industry in 2007. Liz brings with her a wealth of industry knowledge and a passion for providing each and every one of our homeowners with an experience that is nothing short of exceptional.

While you’re busy ironing out the final details, Liz and her team are getting ready to help your new house feel like a home. As someone who “sweats the small stuff”, no question or detail is too big or too small. Ensuring our homeowner’s feel cared for from the time they meet our sales team until years down the road is her top priority. She is responsible for the overarching customer experience provided by Shane Homes and is thrilled to work alongside a team brimming with knowledge, ambition, and a genuine interest in delighting those who trust us to build their homes. A professional friend maker, full time 90’s music aficionado and number one fan of the homebuilding industry, you can count on her to make your journey with Shane Homes a memorable one from start to finish.

Blair Januska

Having worked in the home building industry in Alberta since 2006, Blair is excited to join the Shane Homes team as the Service and Warranty Manager. Mostly holding roles in customer care, home service and warranty, Blair is well equipped to lead Shane’s Home Care team as they support our homeowners after possession. Blair values teamwork and is constantly learning in the evolving world of home construction. In his spare time, you can find Blair relaxing, biking, golfing or just out enjoying nature.

Nabeal Borhot

Nabeal started his managerial career in the hospitality industry at the young age of 21. After getting married, he shifted his career focus to find a job in estimating with a small Calgary home builder. After gaining 8 years of industry experience in purchasing and cost control, he proudly joined the Shane Homes’ team in 2014. His responsibilities include building relationships with trades and suppliers to ensure the Shane standards of quality and craftsmanship are met, while keeping the company’s costs within budget. Nabeal’s ambition and dedication to the success of the company led to his promotion to Team Lead of Purchasing & Cost Control in 2017 and eventually to Purchasing & Estimating Manager in 2018.

Chantel Staub

Chantel recently joined our team here at Shane Homes with over 16 years of sales, management, and customer service experience. Chantel supports the Shane Sales Team in ensuring homebuyers have a great homebuilding experience and are ready to rave about Shane Homes for years to come. She brings a wealth of knowledge in driving team morale, engagement, and customer satisfaction. Chantel’s approach is to “do the right thing” and loves being in the new home industry helping people build their dreams homes all while having the absolute best experience possible.

Paul Duncalf

Paul comes to Shane Homes with more than 20 years accounting experience at the senior level and brings home building experience with him.  He worked as the corporate controller at a company in Calgary in the mid-2000s and a home building company in the United Kingdom in the 1990s. Included in his background is managing an accounting team as CFO for a technology company in Calgary and just prior to joining Shane Homes, was an accounting professional recruitment manager with Robert Half. He is originally from the UK and he tells us he was once told by a colleague he was the only accountant with a personality.

James Purcell

James Purcell oversees the daily financial reporting and accounting activity for the Multi Family and Land Development division within the Shane Homes Group of Companies. James’ brings a wealth of knowledge in financial reporting and tax compliance from his previous role in public practice. He values Shane Homes commitment to providing customers with high quality products as well as building strong relationships with all the stakeholders in the industry. During his spare time you can often find James tearing down the edge of a mountain on either a snowboard or mountain bike!

Glenn Jorgensen

With more than 20 years experience as an Area Manager on his resume, Glenn also brings a great deal of knowledge of the construction industry to his consultations with customers. His close attention to detail and his valuable technical knowledge allows him to smoothly guide his customers through the buying and building process, making purchasing your new home an enjoyable experience.

Dave Gearey

Working in the home building industry since the late 1990s, Dave Gearey started with Shane Homes as a host, eventually working his way up to Area Manager. With more than 30 years experience in senior management positions, Dave excels at customer service. He takes great pleasure and satisfaction in helping customers throughout their entire building process and always places the utmost importance on building strong customer relationships.

Jamie Ivey

After 12 years in the building industry, Jamie is excited and motivated to bring previous experience to his position as Area Manager. His extensive background in home renovation and customer service, serves his clients well and as a former member of the Canadian National Long-Track Speed Skating Team, his competitive nature is a benefit to his clients. Jamie has a degree in Economics as well as a Bilingual Diploma. He prides himself on being a dedicated representative of Shane Homes.

Karen Kotchar

When Karen and her husband built their first 'new' home together Karen enjoyed the experience so much that she decided new home sales was the place for her, so in 2001 she began her journey in the home building industry. In 2005 Karen joined Shane Homes as a Sales Associate, quickly moving up to her current position as Area Manager. Over the years, Karen’s and her husband have built 2 gorgeous homes with Shane Homes. Karen describes herself as enthusiastic and her greatest reward is the look on her customers face when she hands them their keys and walks them through their newly built dream home. Karen is dedicated to making sure you have the same great experience that she had when she built her homes.

Jeff Luif

Another long-time member of the Shane Homes team with more than 27 years of sales experience under his belt, Jeff has earned the title of top salesperson of the year for a number of those years. It's a title that is earned only through dedicated customer service and experience. Jeff has helped over 1000 happy homeowners and is a true expert when it comes to guiding buyers through the home building journey.

Deb Gearey

Deb Gearey joined Shane Homes over 2 decades ago as an Associate, quickly earning the role of Area Manager. She has experience in selling to first time buyers with our townhomes, duplex and laned products. Her goal was to represent a builder that empowers their customers, late nights customizing a home is where she thrives! Her enthusiasm is well-known, as is the passion and knowledge she brings to guiding her clients through the planning and building of their homes. Deb combines professionalism and knowledge with kindness and sincerity to build warm, successful relationships with her customers.

Erin Jorgensen

Erin Jorgensen joined Shane Homes in 2018 with 11 years of prior experience in the industry. She specializes in assisting first time and move up buyers in building their dream home. With an educational background in Marketing Management from Mount Royal University, she strongly understands the importance of product knowledge and customer service making her an exceptional addition to the Shane Homes team. In 2017/2018, Erin won an AVID Customer Service Award as a result of her exemplary customer satisfaction scores; she falls within the top 5% of homebuilding professionals in North America. Her attention to detail and dedication to buyer needs ensure her customers are always happy with their home purchases.

Troy Dixon

Customer service is Troy’s passion creating the ideal new home for his clients is his goal. With over 10 years in sales and over 5 years in new home sales, Troy has a wealth of knowledge in the process of building and a keen attention to detail. Troy won an AVID Customer Service Award in 2019 & 2020 falling within the top 5% of homebuilding professionals in North America.

In his free time, Troy loves spending time with his family, hiking, biking, skiing & travelling.

Leon Kang

Leon joins the Shane Homes team with over 10 years of home building experience, and a passion for architecture and interior design – which compliments Shane’s Love it or Customize it philosophy. Leon knows a thing or two about finding the perfect home, as he has lived in more than 13 countries. He can speak 5 different languages, in addition to English. When Leon’s not helping homeowners build their dream home, you can find him with his two dogs enjoying the views in the beautiful Rockies!

Aleaha Cole

A new addition to the Shane Homes team, Aleaha brings 9 years of new home sales experience and a passion for helping people build the best home for their unique lifestyle. She is a sales professional with a lifelong love of new homes, having started while touring showhomes at a young age. She values client relationships as well as customer satisfaction above all and is genuinely elated to be a part of building customers dream homes.

When out of the office, Aleaha can be found on outdoor adventures with her husband, two young sons and beloved French bulldog.

Sabrina Richardson

Inspired by design, Sabrina decided to join the New Home Sales industry just over 10 years ago. She describes every day of work as truly rewarding as she gets to help her clients on the journey of home ownership. Eager to learn the Shane Homes way, Sabrina is excited to join the team as an Area Manager and looks forward to welcoming new clients home.

Anand Mahadev

Anand joins the Shane Homes family with over a decade of sales & management experience, and is excited to help you through every step of the home building process! As long as he can remember he has loved the home building industry and everything to do with it.

Balancing a fulfilling career with family life, he cherishes time with his three children and indulges his passion for golf when not exceeding client expectations in the construction field.

Bipin Mishra

Bipin recently joined the Shane Homes team, he has over 8 years of new home sales experience. Bipin loves every aspect of building a home from the ground up for each customer! He enjoys helping customers through the building process and seeing their dream come to life

John Hamilton

Although a newcomer to the Home Building industry, John worked with Shane Homes for decades when he was their advertising representative for a group of radio stations.

As the real estate specialist in his former career, John got to know the hallmarks and values of many of Calgary’s Home Builders.

He always loved Shane’s ‘Love it or Customize It’ program, as well as their strong commitment to many great charities throughout Calgary. So having the opportunity to join the team was a quick and easy decision.

Even though he’s new, he’s keen and happy to help you with finding your perfect new home.

Veliny Vaz

Veliny has a background in finance but fell in love with the home-building industry after building her own home. She brings a balanced understanding of the home-buying process, as she can appreciate the financial and emotional decisions involved in buying a new home. In addition, Veliny loves making new connections and hearing the client’s stories.

Andrew Thompson

Andrew brings 15 years of sales and management expertise to the team, aiming to enhance your home building journey with exceptional service. His commitment to ensuring your experience is top-notch reflects his focus, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.

When Andrew is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, working out, and playing the drums in a local Scottish pipe band!

Sam Hodgins

Sam joins the Shane Homes Family with over 10 years of Sales experience. William Shephard

While Will is new to the New Home Construction Industry, he brings 20+ years of creating a Custom Experience as well as Sales and Management. Will is extremely passionate about getting it RIGHT for the customer as it is through this he has built an extensive referral network.  Supporting clients and offering solutions even when they are not his own is part of his operating procedure.  He has joined the Shane Homes Family for exactly that reason, to align himself with a builder that puts the Customer needs first, helping create the perfect home of their dreams.

Mansi joins the Shane Home family with over a decade of experience in Sales, Hospitality Management and Corporate Housing. Having worked in multiple countries prior to making Calgary her home, she loves interacting with clients from all over the globe. As a big fan of the “Love it or Customize it” option at Shane Homes, she is looking forward to assisting home buyers build their dream home and is passionate about helping clients through this important milestone in life.

Madison Luif

Madison's transition to a New Home Advisor at Shane Homes marks a vibrant chapter in her career, weaving her extensive background in the beauty industry with her newfound passion in real estate. With over a decade of experience in customer care and sales, including running her own beauty business, Madison excels in creating memorable experiences for her clients. Her dedication to ensuring her clients feel valued, heard, and delighted at every step of their home-buying journey is paramount.

Trevor Balderston

Trevor's life is anything but ordinary. He started his career flying high as a pilot, doing everything from thrilling acrobatics to navigating corporate skies. Eventually, he found a new adventure in the world of IT, where made his mark for 25 years. His journey took an exciting turn when he bought his dream home through Shane Homes. Impressed by the team and their work, he just had to join the Shane Family, blending his people skills with his passion for making a difference.

Away from work, Trevor is also a devoted dad to two amazing teenage girls who light up his world. He embraces the lighter side of life. Whether he's "perfecting" his golf swing, running bases in beer league softball, or soaking up the outdoors, he's all about enjoying the moment and keeping things casual. Trevor's approach to life? Keep it simple, keep it fun, and treasure those personal connections.

Tyler Porter

Tyler joins our sales team here at Shane homes as our online sales advisor. Tyler is our first point of contact with our clients and works to ensure our clients are assisted at all hours of the day. Working alongside our sales team he is here to assist you with any questions you may have and set you up with our area managers to begin your new home journey. Tyler is here to help you!

Tricha Hamstra

Tricha has been in the interior design industry since 2017, after graduating from Bow Valley College with a Diploma in Interior Decorating. She loves to use colour and texture in unexpected ways in her showhome designs as well as combining vintage and modern elements. Tricha is passionate about creating spaces for her clients that are visually impactful and highly functional.

In her spare time Tricha can be found renovating her 1970’s house into a modern dream home!

Suzanne Widas

Suzanne brings a wealth of knowledge and talent to the Shane Homes’ team with over 10 years of experience working in the new home construction and interior design industries.
She holds both a Diploma of Interior Design, and a Certification of Interior Decorating.
Her design style focuses on combining timeless elements with a hint of an edge, which has led to two showhome BILD award nominations. Suzanne loves to assist her clients in creating polished spaces that are functional, unique and always full of visual interest.

She loves all things fashion, and is a doting “Dog Mom” to her goldendoodle, Theodore!

Jenn Knibb

Jenn brings 5 years of experience in the home building industry to the Shane Homes team. She holds a Bachelor's of Applied Interior Design from Mount Royal University and continues to build her industry knowledge through her portfolio. Jenn designs with the mindset of creating spaces that reflect every clients’ unique personality and needs. She is passionate about “design in the details” and continually strives to push the envelope.

Jenn is also a certified pyro-technician and can be found shooting off professional fireworks in her spare time!

Jennifer Snyder

Jennifer believes that great interior design is an appreciation of beauty combined with an emotional connection to the environment around us. She approaches her craft carefully considering all the elements that are needed to make each home feel personal to you.

Jennifer comes to Shane Homes from Sydney Australia where she worked collaboratively with architects and builders to design and renovate dozens of custom homes in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. Having direct experience drafting and planning with architects and overseeing the design plans during construction with trades and builders, Jennifer understands how to achieve great design while keeping to the budgets and schedules of new home builds.

Jennifer’s design approach leans towards contemporary interiors with a love for colour and texture to bring depth and personality to a home. She works collaboratively, seeking to understand exactly how you want to live, helping you to uncover an aesthetic vision and supporting you to make informed decisions to achieve a home that fills you with joy and fits your life.

Carolyn Brunnen

Carolyn loves any opportunity to talk about design and sees it as a great privilege to help people build their dream home. As a mom to two kids and a corgi named Twiggy, she believes good design finds a balance between function and beauty. Her philosophy is a home is meant to be enjoyed! Carolyn holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta and an Interior Decorating Certificate from Mount Royal University.

Jessica Sherrard

Leina Blazev

Leina brings eight years of experience in custom residential, renovations, and commercial design within the construction industry. With a family background of architects and artists, she embraces her role as a "creative nerd," blending practicality with aesthetic elegance in her projects. She values strong interpersonal relationships, enabling her to transform client needs and personalities into inviting and impactful spaces. Passionate about design, Leina also enjoys coffee and notes that if she weren't an interior designer, she would have liked to have pursued a career as an Imagineer for Disney or a Lego model creator.

Clint Cox

Clint has been in the construction / renovation industry for the better part of 20 years and enjoys learning new related trades, techniques and facing new challenges in his role as a Home Care Specialist. In his personal life Clint enjoys a multitude of activities including fishing, camping and spending time with his wife Amanda and their dog Sully at their rustic Cabin in the woods. He is looking forward to the rest of a long and fulfilling career here at Shane Homes!

Joe Torriero

Joe is a Home Care Specialist at Shane Homes and his goal is to always give exceptional customer service in every home he has the pleasure of going to. He feels he has the greatest job as he gets to meet so many wonderful people. He enjoys and loves spending time with his family and when he has some free time he enjoys going fishing. One of his hobbies is making the best wine which he shares with family and friends.

Kevin Johnson

Kevin has worked for Shane homes since 2005. He has been a Red Seal journeyman Carpenter for over 20 years and brings a love of learning and of building quality things to everything he does. During that time Kevin has enjoyed helping people realize their dream of home ownership. Outside of work Kevin enjoys cooking and crafting with his wife and kids.

Michael Lowndes

Michael has over 25 years in the home building industry and loves sharing his love of well built homes with homeowners. Michael is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys getting out into nature year-round. He also loves several sports, both watching and playing, but has a special love for hockey and the Calgary Flames.

Nathan Klap

Nate has been working in the construction industry since 2004 and is a journeyman carpenter by trade. He is always happy, loves to find solutions and fix things, and most of all loves the opportunity to help people every day. When he isn’t at work helping our homeowners, Nate enjoys spending time with his wife and three beautiful children or can be found playing pool with his league. Patrick Bishop

Patrick has been part of the Shane Homes service team since 2017. He is originally from the UK and has called Calgary home since 1989. Patrick has two grown-up kids and now likes to spend his free time travelling and riding his motorcycle (weather permitting of course).

Tara Nagy

Tara is a Home Care Specialist for Shane homes and is ambitious and success driven. She enjoys a challenge and something to strive towards. In her personal time she likes to listen to music, swim and play cards or candy crush. Working for an excellent company like Shane homes allows her to fulfill all her professional and personal goals and needs.

Travis Yeats

Travis had been in the building maintenance and property management industry for over a decade before joining the Shane Homes team. From large commercial buildings to condo towers and now new family homes, Travis has found a great fit with Shane Homes. High quality customer service and a love of the construction industry provide Travis with all the tools needed to ensure a wonderful experience for our homeowners. An audiophile and speaker builder in his spare time, Travis is excited to sink his teeth into each and every day.

Zack McKague

Zack joined the Shane Homes team as a journeyman electrician with ten years of experience and has additional experience in landscaping and construction. His diverse skillset lends itself to the many areas of the home that need care. A musician and nature enthusiast, Zack spends his spare time drumming, kayaking, camping, hiking and hanging out with his two dogs Spur and Cyrus.

Ryan Flemmer

Ryan has been working as a carpenter in the film industry since 2013 and is a former teacher. He is a lifelong learner, as such, he enjoys expanding his knowledge about any topic; often it’s construction. When he isn’t at work assisting our homeowners, Ryan can be found enjoying a plethora of hobbies ranging from playing guitar, fishing, painting, sculpting, and weightlifting. He is passionate about delivering a quality house so that homeowners can enjoy their home for many years to come.

Jacob Routy

Jacob is a Home Care Specialist with Shane homes, driven by customer service and building positive relationships with each homeowner. He has a diverse background in the construction industry spanning over 15 years, including electrical, landscaping, and renovations. When not at work Jacob enjoys camping and playing softball, as well as watching true crime shows with his fiancée.

Rosemary Torriero

Rosemary Torriero is a Home Care Coordinator at Shane Homes. She feels she has one of the most rewarding jobs because she has the pleasure daily of interacting with our wonderful Customers whether it’s a concern or a question regarding their beautiful home. her hobbies that she enjoys are cooking and baking and she is always looking for a new recipe. Her greatest joy is her family and friends and her favorite quote is “Every day is a Great day”

Suzie is your amazing, helpful and courteous Home Care Coordinator with 24 years of experience in the building industry. Her passion is helping others which is why she enjoys helping you navigate your service requirements effectively and efficiently and is dedicated to providing the best service possible. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her two amazing grandchildren, golfing with her son and spending time with her family.

Daniel MacInnis

Daniel has been working in customer service roles since 2007 and loves to help his customers solve problems. His goal is to have every homeowner's experience go smoothly, leaving them satisfied and even happier than expected. Daniel loves hanging out with his wife and two children in his spare time and can often be found listening to '90s hip-hop and dance records. So if we ever need a dance party to lighten the mood, Daniel is our go-to guy!

Drew Broadley

I'm new to Shane homes, but not the industry.  I love to create the homes of people’s dreams!  If not at work you'll find me (or not find me) in the Crowsnest Pass.

Jess Chitryn

Jess has been in the residential construction industry for 15 years. Starting as a labourer, she has worked her way up to project manager in her time at Shane. In her time away from work, Jess loves to camp with her family and friends.

Jose Silva

I have been working at Shane Homes since December 2003 and haven't looked back! I originally started as a construction assistant in cougar ridge. I worked for about 1.5 years before the opportunity opened up to join the service team in 2005. In 2018 I was presented with a great opportunity where I become a project manager. Why I love what I do is simple: I start with a hole in the ground, and when done, it's a beautiful home where family memories will be created and the smile on our customers when they take possession of the new home.

When I'm not at work, I enjoy coaching soccer on my son's team, the outdoors, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, snowboarding, and hanging out with my family and friends.

Shaun Burrell

Shaun has been with Shane Homes for 5 years, starting as a construction assistant and has been a Project Manager for over 2 years. He has worked and learned in the construction industry for the better part of 20 years, earning an Architectural Technologies Diploma from Sait, and a Bachelor of Environmental Design Studies from Dalhousie University along the way. Shaun likes being able to take in the whole process of constructing a home, learning a little bit about every trade and finding solutions to make homes the best that they can be for their future homeowners. Shaun enjoys being challenged and solve problems. He also take great pride in being able to be a part of building something so important in people's lives and take great responsibility in that experience.

Darren Gilbert

Darren stands as a dedicated project manager with an impressive 31 years of experience, and notably contributing 19 years if his expertise with Shane Homes. His unwavering commitment and expertise have played a pivotal role in transforming countless construction projects into cherished homes for families. Outside work, he finds joy in his six cherished grandchildren who keep him on his toes!

Will Holt

Meet Will, a construction industry veteran with a career spanning over three decades. Starting in commercial construction in 1989, he transitioned to residential projects in 1995, swiftly rising to the role of project manager by 2000.

Joining Shane in 2011, Will brought a wealth of expertise and a knack for overseeing successful projects. Beyond construction, he finds joy in genealogy research and nurturing his yard in his spare time.

With a keen eye for detail and a passion for excellence, Will embodies a seasoned professional who brings both skill and diverse interests to the table, contributing to his success in and out of the construction field.

Nessir Saghir

Nessir has amassed over 30 years of experience in the home construction industry. He began his journey in 1997 as a labour, gradually moving up the ranks to become a service technician and eventually a project manager, acquiring a solid 27-year tenure at Shane Homes.

Throughout his career, Nessir has always prioritized every aspect of home construction, emphasizing quality and customer satisfaction. Seeing the contentment in customers' eyes and smiles throughout the construction process brings him immense joy.

Outside of work, Nessir enjoys unwinding by watching various sports, particularly passionately supporting the Flames, a team he's been dedicated to for years. During his leisure time, you'll often find him fishing by the lake or playing golf with his close family and friends.

Dan has been working with Shane Homes since 1997 and takes great pride in everything he does. His passion for this industry comes through in the high quality and attention to detail that is apparent when you walk through one of his homes. He puts his homeowners first and looks forward to coming to work every day to welcome people into their dream homes.

Aaron Chamberlain

Aaron has dedicated 25 years of his life to the dynamic world of construction, starting from the very foundation and climbing the ladder of expertise across various trades. His journey has been a hands-on learning experience, mastering the intricacies of framing, plumbing, HVAC, finish carpentry, and more. His professional ventures have spanned across commercial and industrial projects, but he eventually found his passion in crafting residential new home builds.

For Aaron, each project presents its own unique set of challenges, which he ardently embraces. It's the thrill of overcoming these hurdles that keeps him deeply engaged, constantly seeking innovative solutions to intricate problems.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Aaron cherishes moments shared with his son, engaging in activities like archery, rifle shooting, and the tranquility of fly fishing in local rivers. He values time spent with loved ones and finds rejuvenation amidst the serenity of the great outdoors.

Jim Lavery

Jim, boasts a rich background of over 25 years in the construction industry, commencing his journey in 1998. His expertise spans a diverse array of projects, from small boutique custom homes to large-scale single-family residences, townhomes, and substantial renovations. A lifelong learner, Jim successfully completed the Master Homebuilder program while simultaneously working on other exciting projects and raising two sons. Recently fulfilling a childhood dream, Jim is learning to weld at SAIT, adding a new skill to his already impressive repertoire. Joining the Shane team, Jim brings a wealth of experience, known to some team members already.

Outside of the construction realm, Jim seamlessly transitions into a different arena.  His sporting background finds expression in his year-round participation in hockey - acknowledging the pace may have slowed over time. He also finds fulfillment in various activities, including hiking, paddleboarding, boating, and the continual pursuit of new skills, showcasing a well-rounded and adventurous spirit.

A firm believer in diligence and attention to detail, Jim's commitment extends beyond the worksite to the belief that building a family's new home is a responsibility that demands nothing but the highest standards

Kent Palmer

Kent has been with Shane Homes for six years and was hired into the Multi-Family division team on December 15, 2016, as a Site Carpenter. What brings Joy to Kent is seeing the excitement on a client's face on possession day. When not at work, you can find Kent outdoors - boating, fishing, hunting spending time with family and friends.
