Ambleridge is still one of the newest names on the map in Northwest Calgary, and we’re pretty proud of what we’ve built there. If you’ve driven through the area lately, you’ve probably noticed the ridge views, the pathways winding toward West Nose Creek Valley, and a community that’s growing fast without losing that easy, small town feel. Now we’ve opened two new showhomes in Ambleridge, and each one tells a different story about what family living can look like.
Let’s walk through them.
The Edith: A Front Drive Home Built for Big Families and Bigger Plans
The Edith is our newest front drive model in Ambleridge, and it’s already turning heads. At 2,125 square feet with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, it’s sized right for a growing family, but the real standout is what’s on the main floor: a full bedroom and bathroom combination.
That one feature changes everything for a lot of families. Maybe it’s aging parents who want their own space without stairs. Maybe it’s an adult child who isn’t quite ready to leave the nest. Or maybe you just want a guest room that doesn’t require anyone to climb to the second floor. Whatever the reason, the Edith makes multi-generational living feel effortless instead of like a compromise.
Upstairs, the owner’s suite gives you real breathing room. We’re talking space for a king size bed, plus room left over for nightstands and a full dresser, because nobody wants to tiptoe around furniture in their own bedroom. The ensuite carries that same sense of ease with a tiled walk in shower and a proper walk in closet, so morning routines feel calm instead of chaotic.
One of the details we love most in this model is the open to below layout on the upper floor. It’s a feature we can actually add to most of our models on request, and once you see what it does for a home, you’ll understand why people ask for it. Higher ceilings and larger windows flood the space with natural light, and the upgraded glass railing keeps the whole area feeling open rather than boxed in. It’s a small architectural choice that makes a two storey home feel airy in a way photos never quite capture.
Here’s what you’ll find in the Edith showhome specifically:
- Corner lot window additions for extra light
- Exterior upgrades
- Super kitchen
- Rear deck
- Main floor bedroom and full bathroom
- Open to below upper floor
- Upgraded ensuite with tiled shower and water closet
- Upgraded glass railing
- Upgraded fireplace
- Legal basement suite with 2 bedrooms (703 sq. ft.)
- Upgraded front door and side entry
That legal suite is worth its own mention. A 703 square foot, 2 bedroom suite in the basement means real future income potential, whether that’s a mortgage helper now or a rental unit down the road. It’s the kind of feature that pays for itself over time, and having it already built out in the showhome lets you walk through exactly what that looks like in real life.
The Verdant IV: Our First 3 Storey Front Drive Model
The Verdant IV is our first 3 storey front drive model, and at 2,745 square feet with 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, it gives families a whole extra level of options.
The main floor kitchen area does a lot of heavy lifting here. Alongside the super kitchen, you’ll find a spice kitchen tucked just off to the side, perfect for anyone who cooks with strong aromas or just wants to keep the main kitchen picture perfect for guests. There’s also a half bath vanity for everyday convenience and a rear deck for those evenings when you just want to step outside.
Head up to the second floor and you’ll find a layout that puts the ensuite and laundry right where you need them. The primary suite itself has his and hers walk in closets, so there’s no negotiating over hanger space, and the ensuite is genuinely luxurious with a fully tiled shower, a freestanding soaker tub, and a laundry sink set into its own countertop. Upgrades like a soaker tub and double sink vanities take this space from functional to genuinely relaxing.
Then there’s the third floor, which is really what sets the Verdant IV apart. The standard layout gives you an open loft space, but our showhome shows off what’s possible when you extend it with an additional flex room. We’ve set ours up as a gym and family room, though it could just as easily become a home office, a media room, or a quiet retreat away from the rest of the house. There’s also an extended bedroom and bathroom on this floor, a large covered patio, and the option to add a full bathroom if you want even more flexibility up top.
Full feature list for the Verdant IV showhome:
- Super kitchen
- Rear deck
- Spice kitchen
- Half bath vanity
- Second floor ensuite and laundry layout
- Fully tiled shower
- Freestanding tub
- Laundry sink with countertop
- His and hers walk in closets in the primary suite
- Extended 3rd floor with bedroom and bathroom
- Upgraded glass railing
- 3rd floor deck (163 sq. ft.)
- Legal basement suite preparation
That third floor deck alone, at 163 square feet, gives you an outdoor space most homes never think to include above the second storey. It’s a quiet spot for morning coffee or evening wind down that you just don’t find in a typical two storey plan.
Why Ambleridge
Both of these showhomes sit in a community that’s quickly becoming one of the more talked about spots in Northwest Calgary. Ambleridge offers ridge views, a glacial erratic you won’t find anywhere else in the city, and direct access to the West Nose Creek Valley. The pathways are safe and pedestrian friendly, and the storm pond area gives kids and dogs alike plenty of room to explore.
You’re also close to established communities like Ambleton, Evanston, Sage Hill, and Livingston, which means shopping, dining, and schools are never far away. North Calgary as a whole is known for its cultural diversity and welcoming community events, along with easy access to Nose Hill Park, Country Hills Golf Club, and WinSport for anyone who loves the outdoors year round. Commuting is straightforward too, with quick access to Stoney Trail, Deerfoot Trail, and a short drive to Calgary International Airport.
