While colour palettes offered at new condo developments are designed to coordinate a variety of finishes, buyers don’t necessary want everything to be the same tone.
Colour palettes are a collection of finishings selected by a designer that follow a similar colour theme. The intention is to make it quick and easy for the buyer to make a decision about the finishes in their condo.
But for some people’s design tastes, the ability to contrast colours is important.
Dark cabinets paired with light floors, for example.
This is one of the benefits to purchasing a condo at the Mark 101 in Sage Hill by Shane Multi-Family.
People who buy a pre-sale condo in the development’s third and final phase can pick from Column A or Column B. They’re not restricted to one or the other.
“Despite the fact that there’s a lighter and darker colour palette to start from, you can mix and match any of these bits and pieces, which is really quite nice,” says Tim Huxley, area manager at the Mark 101.
At some multi-family developments, colour palettes are designed to be used as a package only, and any cross-over may clash.
“Our design team has full-proofed the colours schemes so they all work together,” Huxley adds.
This includes cabinets, floors, tiles, wall paints, among other selections.
The standards at the Mark 101 are of a high grade, including stainless-steel appliances, luxury vinyl plank flooring, and quartz counters.
Beyond the colour palettes, buyers at the Mark 101 can make some changes to the flooring.
“We can delete carpets in bedrooms and extend the plank,” says Huxley.
“What we are really seeing is, catching people’s attention, is that we have a couple of ceramic floors for bathrooms that people really like,” he adds. “Typically, the standard finish in the bathroom would be plank floors but the ceramic is catching on really fast.”
Huxley says it’s a porcelain finished tile that is reminiscent of Italian marble. The Mark 101 is displaying this selection in a show suite that opened recently.
The Mark 101 is in northwest Calgary’s scenic Symons Valley corridor and located a short distance from a variety of desirable shopping and dining amenities.
