1. What information does Shane Homes Limited collect?
This policy applies to all information collected or submitted on our web sites. There are two categories of information: Anonymous and Personally Identifiable.

Examples include general web site traffic and statistical information such as the total number of customers visiting our site. We use this information to improve our site. This information helps us focus our resources on the features that are most popular with our customers.
Personally Identifiable Information is information that tells us specifics about you, such as name, email, address, and phone number. We use this to deliver personalized information to you. An example is the 'Add me to your email list' feature on, which allows us to keep customers informed about upcoming communities and promotions by sending periodic e-mails to notify you of that information. When you provide registration information, such as with the 'Set up an appointment' or 'Contact Us' feature, it will be used solely to respond to your inquiries. We do not send promotional information to customers in this category. If you wish to receive updates on current promotions and new communities, you will need to add your name and email to our email list using the 'Add me to your email list' feature. Once you have been added to the email list, you can remove yourself at any time by clicking on the 'unsubscribe' link at the bottom of any email and your name and email address will automatically be taken out of our database. offers contests in which we request certain personal information. These contests are conducted in full accordance with Canadian federal and provincial laws. The full rules and all information about such contests are clearly posted during such events. Information gathered is used only to verify user identity and to contact winners and/or prize recipients, except when specifically noted otherwise. Again, we do not share information about specific individuals with any third party, unless the prize is being awarded by a third party in which case that information will be specifically noted in the contest rules and information.
We will never knowingly share personal identifiable information with outside parties. We do not sell or make your information available to marketing agencies or outside parties. We never use or share personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to those described. 
2. Data Security
Shane Homes Limited will protect the confidentiality of its customers' information, account information and personal communications to the fullest extent possible and consistent with the law and the legitimate interests of Shane Homes Limited, its partners, its employees and other customers of Shane Homes Limited's services. To protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of information that is collected from customers, Shane Homes Limited has appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures in place. 

3. What are cookies?
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's hard drive that contains information about the user. Our websites use cookies. When a customer fills out a form on our site, such as when registering for the 'favorites' feature or 'contests', the contents of the form is saved in a cookie on their hard drive. The next time the customer visits their favorites or enters another contest, the information is automatically populated for their convenience from the cookie. The only personal information a cookie can contain is information you supply yourself. Our use of cookies is specific to storing registration/form information so the user will not have to enter it more than once, thereby saving time while on our site. If a user rejects the cookie, they may still use our site. 

4. What about privacy on websites that is linked to?
Shane Homes Limited may provide links to its partners and other Internet sites. These sites have separate data and privacy practices independent of Shane Homes Limited, therefore Shane Homes Limited disclaims any responsibility or liability for their policies or actions. 

5. Choice/Opt-out
Customers who no longer wish to receive our materials may opt-out of receiving communications at any time by clicking on the 'unsubscribe' link at the bottom of any email sent by Shane Homes Limited, and your name and email address will automatically be taken out of our database.
