Shane Communities is an integral part of the Shane Homes Group of Companies specializing in land acquisition and development. Our focus is on overseeing the acquisition of property, the management of existing land assets, and the subsequent planning and construction for residential and commercial land use. We provide a broad range of land development services and work collaboratively with our builder and developer partners, as well as municipalities to help develop cost-effective and sustainable solutions for new communities. With over 30 years of residential development experience, we have the capability of developing quality communities throughout Calgary and area.
Enclave at the Hamptons Development
Shane Communties has taken on a unique project in the Northwest of Calgary. The Hamptons was developed in 1990 and is one of Calgary’s nicest northwest communities.

Built around the 18 hole Hamptons Golf Course, the area offers residents lots of green space and recreational opportunities including, playgrounds, ball diamonds, tennis courts, an Olympic size hockey rink, bike pathways that are connected to Nose Hill Park, and 30 acres of park land.

Midtown in Airdrie Development
Shane Communities’ first development, Midtown in Airdrie, is well underway! This gorgeous development covers 90 acres in the heart of Airdrie. Uniquely, Midtown in Airdrie boasts great openness right in the middle of the city. Our Business Model

The core of our business is creating and strengthening partnerships with developers, builders, contractors, and municipalities. At Shane Communities, we have developed a “Builder/Developer” model that allows for a full range of services from land acquisitions through to housing possessions. Our builder-friendly model also includes inviting other homebuilders to build in the communities we develop. This level of enhanced developer/builder relationship is crucial to promoting stronger integration and cooperation between developers and builders so that we are able to provide a better perspective on the challenges that face our industry. This perspective enables us to work with municipalities to achieve an end goal that is beneficial to ourselves, the cities in which we develop, and the future residents of the communities we build.

Our Joint Ventures

As is with every company within the Shane Homes Group, positive relationships within our industry are a key to our success. Due in large part to our company’s strong community ties, Shane Communities has solid partnerships with many other developers throughout the Calgary region. Through various joint ventures, we are invested in multiple communities that are currently being developed by our partners. These communities include the likes of  Cornerstone, Legacy, and Nolan Hill; three of Calgary’s most popular new communities.
Strong partnerships with other developers allows us to strategically maintain our land supply for the Shane Homes Group of Companies while opening up future opportunities for our company to grow.


Land Holdings

We are excited to share that Midtown is just the beginning of an exciting future for Shane Communities! We are fortunate to have land holdings in two premier areas within the Calgary area. In Calgary’s northwest, we will be developing the residential community of Glacier Ridge; and in southwest Calgary, we will be developing within the beautifully scenic community of Springbank Hill.   
At Shane Communities, we are very excited about the future development of Glacier Ridge. This large community will be set over 220 acres of land in northwest Calgary’s Glacier Ridge area. We are currently working collaboratively with the City of Calgary and other area landowners though the planning approval process. Glacier Ridge has the potential to become one of Calgary’s most sought after communities. Although primarily a residential community, Glacier Ridge will be complete with numerous natural amenities including West Nose Creek, commercial and retail developments, and active and passive recreational opportunities. With so much opportunity for this exciting development, Glacier Ridge will be a premier community in Calgary.

Springbank Hill is sure to be a scenic and beautiful development from Shane Communities. Located south of the Aspen Landing commercial development, Shane Communities has 15 acres within the Springbank Hill Area Structure Plan (SHASP). This unique area is characterized by a breathtaking ravine system, challenging yet beautiful topography, and great access to existing amenities including the west leg of the city’s LRT system. The Shane Communities team is currently working with a talented team of consultants and members of city administration through the City of Calgary planning process.
