Intermediate Systems Administrator

We are currently searching for an Intermediate Systems Administrator to join our team in the Information Technologies department. The successful applicant will have inherent leadership skills as well as excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. They will also possess the technical skills required to support our growing I.T. team in the maintenance of our internal and external infrastructure. 
 Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provide onsite (and remote) technical support for software/hardware/ user related issues
  • Ensure departments have appropriate systems and programs to meet operational needs
  • Train users on proper use of new systems, software and hardware
  • Provide daytime and after hours technical support for all staff, as required
  • Provide full network setup and support services including maintenance of servers and  hardware infrastructure
  • Assist in maintaining, upgrading and testing all databases
  • Report writing, including custom scripts and queries as required by management
  • Ability to take ownership of external vendor relationships to limit technological business disruption
  • Maintain proactive cyber security protocols; advise and implement changes as required
  • Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning initiatives
  • Support planning, programming and maintenance of security systems
  • Assist in hardware, software set up as required in the office or remote work sites
  • Help maintain administrative records relating to the sourcing and maintenance of corporate assets, including licenses
  • Support the I.T. team during outages and while undertaking any installation, implementation or continuity initiatives
Essential Requirements:
  • 6+ years’ experience
  • CompTIA IT, MCSE (or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with Remote Utilities/Team Viewer/ Go To Meeting
  • SQL Server DBA experience
  • CRM experience an asset
  • Priority will be given to candidates with recent exposure to the following:
    • VM Ware
    • AutoCAD
    • Crystal Reports
    • Linux
    • Sage/Timberline
    • Pronto Forms
  • Occasional requirement to lift/move objects 50+ pounds to fulfil responsibilities of the position
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows & base Windows Suite programs
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Security systems & access control knowledge
  • Experience in homebuilding industry an asset, but not required
  • Must have reliable vehicle and be able to travel to worksites and show suites
