News » A 'Mini World Cup' for Calgary Teams U6 & U8

Calgary, AB (May 29, 2014). Thousands of adorable mini soccer players under the age of 8 will gather together in brightly colored jerseys for the 2014 Outdoor Minifest Tournament, a ‘Mini World Cup’ to wrap up the outdoor soccer season! This annual event has exploded into one of the largest grassroots soccer festivals in Canada and has grown so large that it now expands over two weekends; one in North Calgary and one in South Calgary!

NORTH MINIFEST: Saturday May 31, 9:00am-5:00pm at the Inland Playing Fields (112 Ave NW)
SOUTH MINIFEST: Saturday June 7, 9:00am-5:00pm at the Cedarbrae Community Centre (11024 Oakfield Drive SW)

Minifest is all about family fun and is a great opportunity to see what grassroots soccer is all about. Every excited, knee length jersey wearing player takes part in two final games, waits eagerly for their turn on the bouncy castle and gets to take home a memorable medal. Both Minifest events in North and South Calgary will have bouncer castles, the Butterfield Acres Petting Zoo, air brush tattoos, team photos, Kettle Corn Popcorn, medals and certificates for all players and so much more excitement!

CMSA is extremely grateful for the support of Minifest’s two major sponsors: Tim Hortons who sponsors all U6 players and Shane Homes who sponsors all U8 players. It is with the help of Tim Hortons and Shane Homes that CMSA is able to host this incredible soccer festival each year for these young soccer stars. "Dedicated to working with our member organizations to develop, organize, promote and create opportunities that allow all participants to reach their desired level of achievement within the sport of youth soccer."
