News » Shane Homes Supports Kids Up Front and the Yards for Kids Program

Calgary, AB – Kids Up Front Foundation is a local charity that provides access to arts, culture, sport, and recreation for children and youth who otherwise would not have the opportunity. Through Kids Up Front children and youth receive tickets to events such as the Calgary Flames, Calgary Stampeders, concerts and plays and enjoy a life-enhancing experience. One little ticket ... One big lift!

Evan E. Patterson, executive director of Kids Up Front says, “Kids Up Front takes unused tickets to various events in Calgary and redistributes to kids and families and present an opportunity that they might not normally have.”

Kids Up Front works with over 140 child-serving charitable agencies in Calgary to distribute donated tickets and create special events for special kids. By forwarding your unused tickets, Kids Up Front ensure they reach the thousands of kids who could really benefit from them.

Patterson says, “Shane Homes has come on as a supporter of the ‘Yards for Kids’ program. For every offensive yard that the Calgary Stampeders score this season, a company comes on and sponsors $1. This year we are partnering with Shane Homes.” Traditionally approximately 10,000 offensive yards are scored, meaning a $10,000 donation to Kids Up Front by Shane Homes.

Shane Wenzel, president of Shane Homes says, “At Shane Homes we believe we have a responsibility to give back to the communities where we live, build, work and raise our own families. As a homebuilder we know well what families are about. We work with families daily, meeting one of life’s basic needs; a home. The inspiration to give emerges from our corporate philosophy to create a legacy of giving. We are happy to partner with Kids Up Front and provide kids the opportunity to attend events that they may not otherwise have the opportunity to go to.”
