Shane Homes held our 23rd annual golf tournament this year and we are happy to report that it was another great success!

With the support of our staff, suppliers, volunteers, and partners, Shane Homes helped to raise $28,030 for the Frank Lindsay Golf Foundation.

Since the first tournament in 1996, we look forward to our golf tournament all year long so we can show our gratitude to the people who work hard and show commitment to make the Shane Difference a reality. Of course, the day is about raising funds for a great cause! The Frank Lindsay Golf Foundation does incredible work supporting youth golf programs and we at Shane Homes are proud to do our part to help change people’s lives.

Our golfers had so much fun on the course! The weather was fantastic and many new friendships were made.

Golfers were pleased to find Dave Rickett at the Tiki Bar a few holes into the day! Cool refreshments were served and donations were kindly accepted.

Rhonda Halyn was up to her old tricks again! She threw a fun-filled Mexican fiesta for our golfers! We danced to festive music, dressed up in sombreros and serapes, and took fun photos.

After all of the fun at the Tiki Bar and the Mexican Fiesta, we felt it was time for a break. As always, we can count on our good friend and Canadian Long Drive Champion, Lisa “Longball” Vlooswyk, to help us get going on the next hole. She hit drives for our golfers all day on the course and consequently put our golf skills to the test!

A special thank you to Myke Thomas for being our MC, Dave Rickett for hosting the Tiki Bar, Rhonda Halyn who hosted the Mexican Fiesta and special guest Lisa Longball, 8-Time Canadian Long Drive National Champion, all of whom did an amazing job to help raise money for the tournament.

This day allows us to make some fun memories with the help of all our friends and we are glad to come together for a cause so dear to us at the Frank Lindsay Golf Foundation. At this year’s tournament, we were able to raise $9,015 from our donors. We at Shane Homes promptly matched those donations, and D+B Lumber graciously donated an additional $5,000 make the grand total for the day $28,030!

Over the course of the foundation, hundreds of kids have been put through golf programs thanks to generous donations and with events like ours, more kids will be able to take part in this great game for years to come!

Again, a special thank you to our staff, volunteers, suppliers, trades, and partners who helped make this yet another amazing day in support of a great cause. We can’t wait for next year!
