Saturday, April 18, 2015 was the Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) – Calgary Region 2014 SAM Awards.  For those unfamiliar with this event, for Calgary Home Builders, Renovators, Developers and Partners, it is the Academy Awards of the Calgary building industry, culminating in a star-studded (of the building industry!) gala at the Telus Convention Centre.

The SAM Awards celebrate innovation and excellence in Calgary and area’s residential construction industry.

Companies submit entries for 58 awards in 10 categories, including sales and marketing awards and new home awards (single and multi-family).  Three finalists per category are selected from industry judges, and the awards are presented with over 1600 in attendance at the Telus Convention Centre with guests wearing their finest formal attire at a beautiful gala, complete with a fabulous meal and entertainment.

Competition is fierce with everyone entering what they consider to be ‘the best of the best’ according to their customers and sales and marketing teams!  Their best showhome, their best sales centre, their best sales team and more are entered.  Unfortunately there can only be one winner per category.

Shane Homes was honoured to be a finalist in three categories and to take home the award for Best New Home in the $295,000 – $334,999 category for our Fiesta II showhome in Hillcrest in Airdrie.

Our Nolan Hill sales team also placed third for Sales Team of the Year – Single Family based on sales volume!  Congratulations to Deb Gearey and Jeff Luif!  Way to go Team!  They are actually family – brother and sister.
